An orange tree on the Irish ground
One will never see it.
A day with snow-embalmed lilac
No one will ever see it.
What difference does that make?
What difference does that make?
You sleep beside me
near the river,
where our cottage
beats like a heart full of joy.
An orange tree on the Irish ground
One will never see it.
But in my arms, someone else other than you,
No one will ever see it.
What difference does that make?
What difference does that make?
You sleep beside me.
The water of the river
blossoms the heather
And your sleep is with me.
An orange tree on the Irish ground
One will never see it.
A day with snow-embalmed lilac
No one will ever see it.
What difference does that make?
What difference does that make?
You, my child, you are here! |

I actually found this piece to be quite easy. I've only decided to sing this 2
days ago, and I'm already releasing it, at recording #3. Contrast this to my recent
4 sessions of recording German songs, where I needed 3 to 6 weeks each, with
about 10 tries. That was mainly due to more complex melody, structure and
vocabulary.
I only aim to practice to the point of being 95% understandable, and being
able to sing it relatively smoothly. I intend to periodically re-record some
pieces, as my pronunciation improves. I'll keep all original releases for
comparison, and maybe add some earlier practice sessions for
illustrative/learning purposes.
