At The Thai Restaurant

I took these impromptu shots on-location with ambient light, thus avoided incessantly (10 shots taken, 7 shown here) disturbing other patrons. Have you noticed: They are free of frontal glare and harsh shadows, because I disabled flash. Nice natural reflections with backlit effects!   May 25, 2012

Here are my strategies:

• wide-angle lens (closer to subject, not so shaky)
• image stabilizer enabled
• AP: wide aperture (unforgivingly narrow depth-of-field)
• Pre-focusing (single-spot mode, not "multi-spot")
• spot metering (center, with lock & compose sequence)
• slightly higher ISO sensitivity (not so high, to avoid noise)
• with both my elbows on table as tripod
• hold my breath for a few seconds
• very gently press shutter release (or use 2s self-timer)

Details:  approx. 28mm focal length, ISO 200, F3.6, 1/15 s ~ 1/8 s
